The La Paz Peace Practices are not achievable without a stable democratic system where students have an active voice in the community. Annual elections in grades 6-12 offer a real-life example of democracy in action. Student government members are invited to participate in the La Paz monthly school board meetings in order to ensure that the students are involved in the oversight responsibilities of the board of directors.
