La Paz Community School’s campuses are designed as innovative living-learning laboratories. They foster exploration, growth, and community engagement, benefiting both students and the surrounding community.
La Paz Community School is nestled among several unique communities in the northern Pacific region of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
Located just 1 km from the Pacific Ocean, La Paz Cabo Velas’ eco-friendly campus seamlessly blends Guanacaste’s rich culture and landscape with modern learning facilities and dedicated spaces for the arts. As the first La Paz campus, it moved to its current location in 2011 and has since grown and evolved to meet the community's expanding needs. Students actively engage with nature through hands-on Anchor Projects, utilizing areas like our chicken coop, greenhouses and gardens. They also enjoy access to an arena, a semi-Olympic pool, soccer fields, as well as a indoor courts.
Cabo Velas is located near communities such as Playa Negra, Playa Grande, Avellanas, Brasilito, Las Catalinas, Potrero, Flamingo, Langosta, Tamarindo, and Cartagena.
The La Paz Tempisque campus offers a vibrant and modern space for learning. It opened its doors in 2021, after a complete renovation of what used to be a healthcare facility. In addition to newly built facilities like the high school building, the campus features sports amenities including a soccer field, synthetic mini-soccer fields, running track, and a covered court. As with all La Paz campuses, students here engage in hands-on Anchor Projects, making use of the characteristic gardens and outdoor learning spaces that foster a deep connection with nature.
Tempisque is located near communities such as Liberia, Gulf of Papagayo, Guardia, Comunidad, Filadelfia, Nicoya, Santa Cruz, Sardinal, Playa Hermosa, and Playas del Coco.
In alignment with our mission to cultivate informed and mindful citizens of the world, our Cabo Velas campus offers a unique opportunity for our students and the community to come together and share enriching sports and cultural experiences. The Events and Sports Center provides top-tier facilities, including a covered gym, soccer fields, and a semi-Olympic pool. Although these spaces are primarily dedicated to our students, community members are welcome to join clubs, activities, and other wellness initiatives.
