MINDFULNESS


Through the consistent practice of mindfulness, students learn to stay present and increase their awareness of themselves, others, and the world around them, developing the self-management and discipline necessary to achieve success.

Mindfulness activities, such as breathing exercises, mindful listening, body scans, and sensory practices, are a regular part of our Community Meetings.

Teachers also integrate mindfulness into lessons, and use techniques like journaling, nature observation, and mindful reading, allowing students to explore:

  • An understanding of how their brain works
  • Attention skills
  • Sensory awareness
  • Emotional management skills
  • Compassion & Empathy
  • Ecological awareness

In the BEST program, mindfulness is a key tool to help students regulate emotions, reflect on learning challenges, and build essential skills for success
